I have been stuck in the 1500's spying on King Henry VIII and The Other Boleyn Girl.. I have one word for you.
FASCINATING!!
I have rediscovered my first love of reading. Real books with real pages. You know, the ones you have to turn. And I love it! I have neglected my pile of books for about a year. They have stacked up while I have spent HOURS UPON HOURS on the computer reading blogs. I have loved reading about you and your lives and your kids.
It was not time wasted, I will assure you.
But the books have been calling my name. Wooing me to them. If you know me then you know I love to read. My favorite genre is Historical Fiction. Somehow I missed all these incredible stories in high school and college. I was probably too busy worrying about my hair or prom or my increasingly bad driving record. You know, all the important stuff that 18 year olds think about.
Not once did King Henry VIII cross my mind. I had to Wikipedia him just to find the history behind his selfish desires and his six wives. Let me tell you that the political ring in Washington DC have nothing on these people. I guess all's fair in love and war.
So, that is where I have been lately. Considering my last 2 posts, I am sure you thought Skip finally checked me into the nut house. But I am here. I am sane. I am still smiling. Reading has calmed my frazzled nerves and given me another reason to be selfish.
I have even managed to feed my children once today. Even if it was with a book in hand.

Perfect for this dark rainy day while the boys are away!
Enjoy!
Sounds wonderful! I love historical fiction too. Read some for me!
I want to read that book! Let me know if you like it when you're done!
I think I'm going to see that movie! It looks very good. I'm sure the book would be better though.

Nellie-We need to go see the movie when it comes out. I loved the whole series of books. Not sure what drew me to them, but I really was sucked right in.
Great books! I heart historical fiction so much. Definitely my favorite genre as well. I've also been doing lots of reading, especially with all of the snow days and sick days.
ugh!
I've done that: book in my left hand, stirring dinner at the stove with my right...makes for a potentially messy book =).
I love reading blogs but there is nothing like reading a great book.
I left you a comment on your shelfari site. As you know, I have rediscovered a love for reading this year too. I enjoy reading your commentaries and seeing your ratings on your shelfari site. Thanks for joining!
Yesterday was a perfect day to stay home and read. Looks like today will be the same.
Oh, you're getting it read JUST in time for the movie!!!
I, too, loved the book.
I want to read that one too. But now that the movie is out, it'll be checked out of the library for a while.
