If only I was a Superhero. I would want my superpower to be the ability to FREEZE time (either that or elastic arms...Mrs. Incredible sure made that look good.) I can see the power to freeze time working to my advantage in both good and bad times.
For example, the last hour is one that I would freeze to last forever. I know I could take a picture of it; but a picture would not do this moment justice. It would not describe the peace I feel right now.
Both kids are playing independently...in the living room so I still get to enjoy them. Dinner is in the oven prepared in advance for a hectic night. Beds are made...which is really an act of God. Dishes are done. Laundry is getting caught up.
I love this moment. I know it is fleeting, but it is times like this that get me through the harder ones to come.
SO, FREEZE! What's going on right now at your house? I would love to know.

Right now jason is on the couch with both girls and the new puppy, austin is asleep, the house is semi-back-in-order from our trip, and we're planning on going to the rec-plex when austin wakes up. it's a good moment!
I'm glad you aren't using your freeze powers on our house right now. There is laundry on the sofa that needs to be folded and the kids have had a fun day of covering their floors with Barbies and Polly Pockets. Enjoy your clean peaceful feeling! Maybe I can have that feeling by the end of the day!
I'm making progress, but it's a long road ahead ;-)
Oh my gosh, I LOVE moments like this.
Like when the house is super clean but company hasn't arrived yet.
And when Nicknack went down just perfectly for a nap and the house is tidy and I can just do whatever I want, guilt-free.
And when all the laundry is complete and I couldn't find another thing to wash, if I tried!
Unfortunately, this isn't what is going on at this particular moment. The house is a little messy, the kitchen is quite messy, I haven't even thought about laundry today (although there are no clean washcloths), and Nicknack is on day TWO of his nap fast.
But just the memory of one of those freezable moments and the promise of one in the future makes me happy and motivates me to get cleaning/laundering!
:)
