Words cannot describe the joy I felt.

I have tried since I got home on Sunday to recap the weekend Spa retreat with my mom. I still have yet to form an intelligible sentence since my return. My mind simply turned into mush as did my body at the hands of the professionals. Since my thoughts are not coherent, I will try to paint the picture with simple phrases.

Beautiful resort.
Ambassador's suite.
The best Reuben I have ever eaten...cheesy and gooey.
Great view.
The lake.
Rainy day.
Plush robe.
Three chic flicks.
Chocolate cake.
The quietness of the "Ladies lounge."
Roman bath.
Aromatherapy.
Warm bed with silk sheets.
Hot, steamy towels.
Weak at the knees.
Room service.
Fire drill at 6:00am (on a night with no kids...go figure!)
Attention to detail.
Courtesy and respect.
Recipe sharing.
Scalp rub.
And did I mention the quiet?

But the best part for me was spending time with my mom. I don't say it enough...

I love you, Mom. Thank you for such a special treat. I can't wait until Loulabelle is old enough to join us.

So girls. Grab your mom, daughter, sister or your best friend and head to a spa. It will be the best weekend of your life!

Even if it turns your mind to mush.

I've never been to a "sleep-over" spa. It sounds heavenly!

I cringed at the 6am fire drill. Seriously? That is just WRONG! Why would they do that?

Glad you had a good time.

That caliber of an establishment...you would think they would take care of a fire drill at 2pm in the afternoon!

Glad you had fun!

Let me explain. It wasn't a fire "practice" drill. They actually had a "matter of investigation" on the 10th floor. They came over the intercom at 6:00 to let us know it was a "possible emergency situation." Then again at 6:45 to say they were still checking it out. Then the all clear at 7:30.

Sorry for the confusion!

This all sounds absolutely heavenly! I am jealous...I'll admit it! And, I always wondered if there was something like a scalp massage because I think having someone play with my hair is the most amazingly relazing feeling!

SO glad you had such a great time. Glad the fire "drill" didn't spoil your fun! :)

Ahhhh, that sounds heavenly! (well, except for the fire drill! that's crazy!) A scalp massage sounds incredible...I'm imagining it right now. And what, exactly, is a Roman Bath? It sounds divine, I must know!

Amazing. Simply amazing. One of my (several) dream vacations includes a week at a Spa Resort. Wouldn't that be just fabulous! A full week of pampering. Maybe when I turn 40 (which isn't that far off) I can turn that dream into a reality. So glad you and your mom had such a wonderful time.
