Here is to the coolest, sweetest mom ever.

No, it's not me. It's my mom!

Tomorrow afternoon we are stealing away for a Mother-Daughter sleepover at a local resort and SPA. For those of you that live in my town, it's The Chateau. You know that I am smiling from ear to ear right now!

She is pampering me real good. Not only is she treating me, she has also booked us for facials and massages. When she first brought up this idea, it was in the midst of a relaxing, lazy summer. Sure, I agreed but didn't necessarily need the break.

But now. NOW, I need the break. Three weeks of the fall season and my body is worse for wear. I am more than ready to have my back in the hands of a professional. Ninety minutes, people. One and a half hours of working out the tension that has taken up residence between my shoulder blades.

Heavenly.

I can't go without some good SPA advice. What should I wear? What is the cute factor at a spa? What is the appropriate modesty level for a massage? Should I take music? What is your best spa advice? Help me, o wise spa people.

Mom, I can't wait. Hopefully we can make this an annual tradition...hint, hint. Seriously, I don't deserve this. I would have been happy with a $5 back-scratcher and unlimited chips and salsa. You really outdid yourself. I am really looking forward to our time together...just you and me.

I am extremely green with envy.

Sparky has been to the Chateau Spa and she said it really is close to Heaven on Earth. Take a bathing suit because the hot tub is supposedly amazing. Dress cute, but know that you will be very greasy from head to toe after the massage. Also, if you want to wear makeup, take it with you. After the facial, unless they reapply it, you will be bare. As for the massage-just relax and sleep. It will probably be the most relaxed you have ever been.

Have a fabulous time. You both deserve it.

Take me, take me!

My spa advice would be to take cold medicine. Typically when you receive a massage a cold will follow 1-2 days after, so if you take meds ahead you can fight it off.

One of my friends who went to massage therapy school tipped me off on that. It has something to do with the opening of all the pores and such.

YOU WILL LOVE IT THOUGH! I always enjoy my massages on the cruise.

I wanna go too.

Hope you and your mom have a wonderful time. How special to get to spend one on one time with her. You are a blessed woman.

They'll probably have nice robes at the spa for your to wear.

Rich gave me a massage at the Chateau for my 30th birthday. It was wonderful!

I think they will probably go with your lead on the modesty thing. I could say more on this, but not in the comment section of your blog. I'll email you!

Hmmm, maybe you should email me too Alana, I've never had a massage...when I do, I don't want to make a fool of myself! I have no spa advice, except enjoy!!! I think a "girls day at the spa" sounds good...any takers?

Awesome! There is a masseuse there that is a female and knows Brooke, she has long dark curly hair, so you may try some name droppage to get extra massage time! :)
