Savoring the moment.

He didn't know that I was secretly watching him.

Watching and waiting to see what he was doing for his sister.

Her little face held the glow that only admiration for a hero can hold.

Her brother was helping her. Her world was just as it should be.

Did he pour the milk perfectly the way I would have?

No, but he was attentive. He was loving. He was compassionate.

They left the kitchen with full cups in hand. He invited her into his inner sanctum...his room.

They played without fighting. They giggled. They pretended.

My heart soared.

I savor moments like this when I see the seeds of friendship blooming in my kids. I pray that they will develop and nurture a bond that will last a lifetime. Oh, how I hope they will trade in the bickering for a real relationship. I pray that my son will rise up and become a protector of his sweet sister. I pray that she will trust him enough to confide in him. I pray that we will be a family that finds wealth in our relationship and not in our assets.

I am glad I choose to watch from the sidelines and not interfere in this moment. It gave me a chance to see what lies ahead for them.

Friendship.

And there was much rejoicing! And not just about Z and L, I'm rejoicing to see you back on the blog!!

Those moments are so wonderful aren't they? I just love it when I catch them doing something kind, loving, honest, etc without being told.

What a great moment to observe. I think we all hope that our children become more than siblings -- that they become friends. I felt like I was there watching them with you!

This post brought tears to my eyes. I feel that same little flutter in my heart when the girls play well together. I pray for their relationship daily, and do all that I can to encourage it. I see the kindness and love that Z shows for Lou, He will grow into a wonderful protecter. They both show that love and kindness towards my little ones too, and it melts my heart! That speaks volumes about the kind of mommy that they have!

Other than a close relationship with the Lord, the thing I most want for my children is a close relationship with each other.

If Nicknack has a younger brother or sister someday I want them to love and appreciate each other and have a special bond like that.

The moment you shared would just melt my heart and make me sooo happy! You are blessed!
