Where's the Beef?

I wonder how many of you switched from loving the meat food group to absolutely getting grossed out when your child asks what animal he is eating. I may have to start eating only vegetables (don't hold your breath...it's not gonna happen) because it is much nicer to say, "Dear children, here is your flower, or root, or stem..." Until then, I will have to stomach the notion that every cheeseburger has a face, every chicken nugget started out as a really cute chick and every sausage had a tail.

Here is the conversation in the car today:

Z: Mom, what animal did my burger used to be?
Me: Cow.
Z: How old?
Me: Honey, I don't know. Why?
Z: Oh, it just doesn't taste like cow.
Me: Hmmmm. What does cow taste like?
Z: Better.

Look out McD's, you may have a problem! If your processed 99cent cheeseburger doesn't taste like cow to a cow eating connoisseur...then where's the beef?
