LOL...yikes...we LOVE valentines day huh!!!! Let me guess, red and pink nerds??? ROFL!! OH and by the way, rumor also has it that if you let a three year old gorge herself on candy an hour before bedtime in hopes that she'll make herself sick and learn to partake in moderation, it could backfire on you, resulting in a huge hyperactive TANTRUM and then have a sugar crash which enables them to fall asleep immediately after getting in bed which, that part was quite nice and totally unusual actually....LOL. Not that I'd know either...just rumors....hahaa
Thanks for the heads up! You're such a great friend to research these things for hours and hours just so all of us can sleep soundly. God bless you for your servant heart.
Well, the good news is that Nerds dissolve very quickly in the warm nose environment. The bad news, the VERY VERY BAD news, is that the sugar rush goes directly into the blood stream leaving child in the throes of the largest sugar high of her little life.
So the morale of this story. Don't snort sugar unless you want to NEVER sleep again.
Nerds melt but rocks don't...my 4-year-old boy convinced his 2-year-old sister to put a rock up her nose and it got stuck--- so off to the ER for the umpteenth time...upon arriving at Cook's Hospital, the 4-year-old taught the 2-year-old in the waiting room how to snort it out and saved us a deductible. Your story so made me laugh and reminisce. You've come to my mind several times Janelle and I just wanted to say hello and tell you I was thinking about fun delightful you!
Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and praying for you.
How's your book coming? I had actually never heard of that book, and then I saw it on your blog. The next day, I saw an advertisement for the movie. I thought of you. Sounds good!
Wiping noses and bottoms, doing dishes and laundry, making beds and lunches and endless meals...I have lost the woman inside me. I pray this blog will help me find myself again in the midst of the mundane tasks of mommyhood. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a mommy and wife...with all my heart. It is better than I ever imagined, but the endless work has snuffed out some of my joy. My sister-friend says to "savor every moment." So here is my attempt to live to the fullest during this stage of life.

Poor Skip. He just never knew how fin and exciting life with kids could be.
Lucky!
That's quite a misfire. Next time, aim about 2-3 inches DOWN.
Oh my. That does sound like a fun bedtime routine!!! Nothing like snot covered nerds - um, provided they come out! (I hope they DID come out...)
Janelle,
Why, oh why, are you stuffing nerds up your nose? ;)

note to self: avoid nerds up the nose at bedtime! : )
Ok, that's just too funny! Ok, probably not funny at the time, but I love that you write these little things. Brings a smile to my face!

Ohmyword. the things we discover in the wee hours of the night:-)
Glad they dissolved quickly; lack of sleep is better than risking the germs in the ER!
