Top Ten Reasons I Love My Mom

Welcome, MOM. I know, I know I should have told you sooner about my blog, but really didn't know if was going to last. :)

Top 10:

10. Her sheets are FABULOUS. They are soft and luxurious. The thread count is 1 million versus mine that are 20.

9. Her love for cooking and her passion for teaching my kids to love working in the kitchen.

8. Her gardens and love for hard work.

7. The selfless way she serves her husband.

6. Thanksgiving...the end result and all the work leading up to it is so awesome. Did you remember to shower?

5. She always has sandwich makings...black forest ham, swiss cheese, good bread and cold milk.

4. Her perseverance in times of struggle. Watching her in the midst of a crisis is inspiring.

3. I will always be her baby.

2. "I just love Boston this time of year."

1. The way she loves my kids. She is a fun grandma who desires a relationship with them. She plays, wrestles, tickles, cooks, fishes, reads, hides, teaches, corrects, snuggles with both of them.

I love you, mom. I know I should say it more often. You are special to me.

Thanks for sharing your tribute to your mom! She sounds so neat!

My mother knows I have a blog, but I would never give her the "address." I would feel really embarassed, and I'm not sure why.

A few of your mom-things reminded me of my mother, too.

The sheet thing. Why has my mother's bed always been the most luxurious, comfortable, and cozy place in the known universe? And why can't I recreate that, no matter how much money I spend? I ought to just convince her to give me her mattress and bedding and make her start over. Hee hee. But even then, it still wouldn't smell like her perfume, which is one of the things that makes it great.

Also, the sandwhich fixings in the fridge. Always. She always has everything I love on hand to whip up a mom-worthy lunch.

Gosh, I hope we become more like our mothers! Mine swears she was just like me at my age, so I have hope. :)

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, loving, caring daughter! And funny too :) I think you are the best daughter a Mom could ever ask for. I laughed and cried at your blog. Don't be so hard on yourself - that's why they say that motherhood is the hardest job in the world. And you are doing a fantastic job raising your kids, so you can take pride in that and forget the housework!
Too often we mothers put ourselves last. Even if you can take 15 minutes for yourself it will help. If your cup is running low you can't give 100%. I love you! Mom
