Tonight we celebrated my big day with my family. It was perfect. I was showered with love, Mexican food, chocolate cake and gifts.
What more could a girl dream of?
Apparently, Z thought I needed to dream some more. He spent a fair amount of time whispering with his daddy about something. All the while, his eyes were gleaming and shining my direction. I knew he was planning a special surprise.
In the car I overheard a part of their conversation. "Daddy, you know the thing I want to buy for mommy? Can I buy it for $100 dollars? I will use all my money if I have to."
Son, you have my heart. That is all you ever need to do for me. I love that you save every note I send you in your lunch box. You are my special boy and all the money in the world cannot replace you.
Just please, for the love of all things good, stop telling everyone that I forgot you at school. It's so not funny!!

mexican food and gifts...really doesn't get much better than that, unless of course it's Target 90% off!
Glad you had a great time!

What a sweet way to start my morning!! These posts are incredibly sweet, and your kiddos are absolutely precious!! What a sweet boy you have, that he wants to use all his money to buy you a gift. And what a precious girl to say that Cwmas lights make her miss her blankie a little less.
I'm glad that you were able to celebrate your birthday in the ways that you love!! (I would very much be happy with love, mexican food, and chocolate cake!!)
Mmmm, Yum-Oh! And darling Z-man, oh how do these boys steal our hearts so easily? And forgetting him at school...I gotta admit, it's just a little funny *grin*!
Aaaaaaw... that IS sweet! I'm melting over here. :)
LOL@forgetting him at school. Sounds like me. ;)

Our children keep us on our toes, don't they?
That is truly precious! I hope you smother that boy with kisses every day (I'm sure you do!) My girl (9) won't let me "mother" her in public anymore...but I do cherish the times when she grabs my hand, hugs, or tells me she loves me in "semi-public".
awwww i LOVE it. and that last sentence just cracked me up!!!! very sweet post!
Glad you're getting some extra love from your Zman.
So, what was the special surprise??
Precious!
I haven't been here in a week I think... and I need to catch up. This was so precious. I love reading about how you love your kids. Inspiring. Beautiful.
seriously. you're not really going to post that without letting us know if he got you a surprise or not. right? right?
a girl can't take so much suspense.
Oh, he melts my heart too!
I'm afraid that story will probably haunt you for years to come! :-)
That sweet boy. One thing I love about him are those eyes when they smile and those darling freckles.
