Loulabelle came rushing inside the house. Breathless, she tells me she just learned how to fly.
"Come and watch me, mama."
Hand in hand, we walk to the swing set. She grabs hold of the ropes and hoists herself into the swing. When did she get big enough to do that?
Legs and arms stretch, then curl under. Over and over until she is high in the air. Her giggle shattered my gloomy disposition. Her smile captured my heart.
"Mama, Z-Man teached me to pump my legs."
I have never seen a prouder boy. His eyes lit up as we watched her swing higher and higher.
I felt like I was flying, too. Thank you, sweet Jesus for this moment.

Love that. I love how our kids can take us from the ordinary to the extraordinary with their perspective on life! Great job Z and L!
Sweet babies! Love that he is teaching her new things.
I think he taught Boy2 how to make armpit noises...Such a sweet boy!
What a special moment to remember! It is wonderful to see siblings caring for each other! You may want to receate this scene and video it for the next time they are screaming at each other! See they really do LOVE each other!
little memories like that are what makes life great, aren't they? Hope you have a good week.

Thank you Jesus, indeed! Moments like that are what makes mommyhood the BEST thing in the world.
BTW Dawn, I think your sweet ones passed on their talent to my youngest! :) They had a band going in the van one day... lol.
Oh... how sweet. I love when those moments get etched in our hearts. What precious memories. :)
So precious! That would have turned my gloomy day to sunny in a heartbeat! :)
So hard, sometimes to watch them get big. But good too...they need to grow up. I guess we do too! =)
My boy taught his little sister how to RIDE HER BIKE this summer...I loved it, I didn't have to run behind the bike getting bruises all over my legs! Plus, the boy...he was SO ACCOMPLISHED!
This is the stuff ife is made of... the little moments like this that truly bring a burst of joy to your heart:-) I remember watching the girls play in the fallen leaves one autumn, giggling and running in circles. It occurred to me that if this is as good as it ever gets, it is a really great life!
Thanks for sharing the sweet moments of life:-)

Awww! So sweet!
We've got one more to learn to pump his legs on the swing and when he does we'll all be so proud and I'll be sad because that will be the end for this milestone. One of my favorites.
