A glob of toothpaste by the sink.
A water ring on the table.
A leaf on the laundry room floor.
A handprint on the window.
A pillow thrown off the couch.
A knife with peanut butter in the sink.
A dog that perpetually sheds.
A wet wad of toilet paper on the floor.
A plunger in the bathtub. (Hmmmmm?)
A discarded M&M wrapper hides under the book.
A broken hanger in the entry way.
A blue stain on the carpet.
A leaky juice bag on the counter.
A pile of Easter grass strewn along the hallway.
These are the things I have been picking up all day. I am feeling frustrated by the amount of little messes that I have chased today. My wheels have been spinning in no obvious direction. I haven't been able to keep up with the mess or contain the mess-makers. I am upset and tired and grumpy.
Finally, I took a nap. I was right in the middle of folding a load of towels left-over from Monday and I couldn't take it anymore. I quit. Laid down and slept.
But the "others" were lurking as I slept. Now the mess is bigger and harder to handle. What am I going to do next week during Spring Break?
Help me, Lord Jesus.

I know how you feel. I've battled little messes all week. So tonight I've decided to take advantage of time alone & watch "Sense & Sensibility".
Just enjoy the break and make memories with your little ones.
naps beat out the "others" anytime in my opinion!
While reading that poem I thought you had been to my house. I feel just like you do. I clean one room and they are messing up all the others. It is a never ending battle. You are not alone. God help us all during Spring Break.
I don't know what we're going to do next week.
I'm scared.
Yesterday I was covered in pee, and p**p all day long. At least I felt like it. Between the "porta-potty" in the back of the car, the "potty trained" three year old, and the boy who goes p**p more than either of my girls put together, I felt like I should submit my own life for that show, Dirty Jobs.
Seriously.
So I'm right there with you my friend, on feeling that my wheels are constantly spinning, but I'm getting nowhere.
At least we get to drown our sorrows together over breadsticks tomorrow night!
Maybe we can all come up with a grand plan for the week to keep all the kids busy.
zoo, sdc, park, a movie, the possibilities are endless.
so sorry to hear about your trip, i know what a bummer that can be.
I'm thinking we stay out of the house as much as possible so they can't mess it up?
I feel your pain, friend. I FEEL it! Tonight just as Rich got home, I had finished getting things in order. I couldn't bear the thought of messing it up by cooking a meal so we opted for Wendy's instead. At least I have a brief reprieve until morning!
Oh so true! Some of the same words came out of my mouth this morning! How do kids mess up a house so quickly????? We will be here for break also so lets put our heads together for a plan! :)
I feel your pain!
I seriously said the exact words last week, and I think the only reason I'm not saying it this week is that the house is disorderly enough not to notice as much! You're asking the right person for help!
Embrace the mess, my friend, embrace the mess!!! It's the only way... come over to the "dark side"!! I say, let the house be a little messy and enjoy your week of spring break! Now, I have to go do the dishes, fold the clothes, and get my dog to the groomer... :)
