A big piece of humble pie.

Maternity swimwear.

Talk about an oxymoron. Your body gets big and round while the swimwear stays the same size, covering only 9% of you. Not matter how cute the suit is, it doesn't do the complete job. I thought I still had a month or two before I had to go down this road. But today we decided to visit a local indoor waterpark. I am all for having fun with my family, but I usually like to do it fully clothed.

I have 4 suits to choose from, thanks to the generosity of several friends. They are very cute and stylish. Loulabelle wanted me to wear the pink one with white flowers. So I tried it on and did an overall assessment.

Not bad. The bump in front minimizes the bump in back.

I made my appearance from the bathroom. I knew Lou would be excited that I chose the suit she picked out. Z-man saw me first.

"That swimsuit doesn't make you look near as big as you are."

I am choosing to take that as a compliment as I face the day with only 9% of my body covered. Thankfully, we will be surrounded by complete strangers and they may or may not remember the whale in the pink floral suit.

Happy Spring Break!!

Janelle,

I feel for you. I would have felt the same way if I was so pregnant during swim suit season last year. I sure you look cute as always.

I don't believe you for one second! You always look CUTE, even in a swimsuit! I have to say though, I didn't mind the maternity swim suit so much. For me, it was the one time that it was OK to look fat in a swim suit!

I think this pregnancy suits you well!

You have looked fabulous for months!

I went with the crazy expensive black (for slimming right?) one from motherhood and was actually quite pleased with it and let's face it I get HUGER than any of ya'll with my babies.

Do we remember 80 pounds with my August baby!

i am SO with shelley. swimsuit season was PERFECT when i was large and in charge. i worried NOT A BIT about my rolls or pudge. it was *supposed* to be there.

i was 37 weeks pregnant with goo when i decided to do "mommy and me" swim lessons with big h.

courage, sister. have courage.

What no pictures? I know you looked awesome... you always do! You are just too modest to say so.

At least you look decidedly pregnant by now. I think it would be much worse if you were at that point where people weren't quite sure if you were preggers or just plump. I agree with the masses...you MUST be adorable!

I'm sure you looked fabuloso as Dora would say!

I have to agree with you about the bump in front minimizes the bump in back, though. I always enjoyed that perk of pregnancy ;-)

You're so cute! I'm sure you looked just darling...you were braver than I though. I completely avoided swimming suits when I was pregnant. good for you!

Pregnancy swimsuits are cute--and I'm sure you look great! The sad thing is when you (meaning me) put on a swimsuit and your youngest says, "Gee, mom, you look like you have a baby in your tummy" and you don't. THAT is sad.

So Z told me that I should tell you "pregnant women in swimsuits are hot!"

I bet you and your preggy belly are adorable in your swimsuit. But, I hated it too.
